Safety

Ethiopia has been comparatively stable and recently elected a decent leader...of course there is the on again off again conflict with Eritrea but it seems like that has cooled off a bit lately. No HUGE amounts of anti-western sentiments and Ethiopia is said to have never been colonized so there's little resentment there as well.

Not to say that the place doesn't have its problems but I would not be afraid to go there.
